  3.                      Spanish <--> English FLASHCARDS
  4.  
  5. FLASHCARDS is designed to build Spanish vocabulary quickly and
  6. easily.  It is simple to operate so that the student can
  7. concentrate on mastering the lessons.
  8.  
  9. In each lesson, the student is presented with 5 sets of 20 cards. 
  10. Each set is called a level and the program randomly selects from
  11. the 20 cards, 50 times.  The object is to complete the 50
  12. questions without incurring more that two errors (three
  13. "Strikes" and you're out).  If you get the third strike, the high
  14. score is updated and you start over.  Typically you would start
  15. with level one and repeat it until you have "Successfully"
  16. completed it 10 times.

  18. At level two, you will be presented with a second set of 20
  19. cards.  At level two you work your way through the 2 nd set and
  20. then the first set (you already know these), until you have
  21. completed both sets "Successfully" 10 times.

  23. By the time you get to level 5 you will work your way from level
  24. 5 to level 4 to level 3 to level 2 to level 1.  As you progress
  25. through the series, the questions seem easier.

  28. Getting started:
  29.  
  30. So you start up and are presented with a question, and you
  31. haven't got a clue.  Take a wild guess or just press the enter
  32. key.  FLASHCARD will beep and display the correct "Answer" above
  33. your input.  The cursor then travels to the upper right corner of
  34. the screen where it waits for you to <hit any key>.  Note the
  35. difference between your input and the correct answer and then
  36. bump a key for the next question.

  38. You will likely strike out 10 times or more before you complete
  39. the set successfully.  When you make a error, the question will
  40. repeat after a few times.  To start try to get the first letter
  41. of the answer correct and then a few more letters correct on
  42. succeeding tries.

  47. When you have mastered lesson 1 continue with lesson 2.  I like
  48. to go back and review all previous lessons after completing a
  49. lesson.  The repetition and review will quickly make these words
  50. yours to command.

  55. At startup you will be given two options.  The first is the level
  56. (1 - 5) and the second is whether you want Spanish or English
  57. input.  If you are a beginner, the English input will be a bit
  58. easier.  You should however alternate Spanish and English input
  59. until you master the cards in both modes.

  61. The only other thing you need to know is how to get out of the
  62. program if you want to return to the operating system.  That's
  63. easy, press <CTRL e> followed by enter.

  68. Shareware gives you a chance to "Try before you Buy."  The 3
  69. lessons included with this shareware version contain 300
  70. vocabulary words.  If you find these lessons useful, you are
  71. encouraged to register.  REGISTERED USERS will receive the
  72. complete course of 8 lessons containing 800 Spanish and 
  73. English vocabulary words.  They will also receive any future
  74. revisions of the program, become eligible for custom programming
  75. and discounts on other Puma Shareware programs.
